Enterprise Reporting Database Architect

Weichert Workforce Mobility is hiring an Enterprise Reporting Database Analyst. The Enterprise Reporting Database Architect is responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and implementing complex database systems, tools, and applications specifically for reporting environments. The position is heavily focused on data conversion and data integration supporting back-end processes. The position also reviews, analyzes, and documents data and workflow processes.

This position requires a skillset to investigate data entities that business operating systems produce, explore relationships and dependencies between them, and define the best ways to organize data for further use.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Designs, develops, and maintains business processes and database applications for reporting environments.

• Translates business requirements, designs, develops, and maintains data warehouse(s) and dimensional data marts represented in a star schema.

• Creates software for data language (e.g., T-SQL), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Azure Data Factory for data integration, data maintenance, or bug fixes.

• Writes and maintains functional and technical specifications.

• Collaborates with Reporting & Analytics team along with Business Analysts, Business Architects and Application Architects to devise and implement data strategies, build models, and assess shareholder needs and goals.

• Develops proactive working relationships with employees both inside and outside the team.

• Communicates project status and escalates issues to management. Provides recommendations and solutions to correct issues.

• Implements solutions to structure the data for easy accessibility and performance efficient way across different reporting systems.

• Develops and implements strategies for creating and maintaining standardized data domains across the enterprise.

• Acts as a technical expert in systems architecture reviews, design, and implementation activities.

• Participates in and guides the design of systems (functional and data management responsibilities) as an integrated part of the enterprise architecture team.

• Analyzes, plans, and defines data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data.

• Creates and implements data management processes and procedures.

• Stays abreast of industry trends to ensure the Company’s technology standards remain current.

• Analyzes, defines, and documents system requirements.

• Creates and executes implementation plans.

• Performs special projects as assigned by management.

• Provides technical support in maintaining database applications.

• Provides support for off hour deployments and production issues.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field strongly preferred

• A minimum of five (5) five years of experience developing relational database applications with SQL Server 2016 or higher

• Experience with Azure Managed Instance and Azure DB is a plus

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience creating scripts in a development environment, testing scripts in a quality assurance environment

• Experience with efficiently handling transactions on large production databases

• Previous Microsoft .NET coding experience a plus

• Experience with database administering and developing solutions for Power BI (paginated reports and dashboards experience a plus).

• Experience with building datasets for different business needs for Ad Hoc reporting purposes.

• Hands on experience and advanced understanding of SSIS packages and other ETL processes for data migration

• Experience using ERwin Data Modeler a plus

• Strong working knowledge in data modeling and query optimization for reporting environments

• Familiarity/Knowledge of data warehouse modeling/concepts

• Strong understanding of relational databases, T-SQL, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory (Azure Data Factory experience is a plus)

• Ability to develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures, functions, and complex SQL

• Strong data analysis, application troubleshooting and writing skills are required

• Highly proficient in performance tuning especially tuning complex queries and stored procedures

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

• Ability to develop systematic testing plans for problem resolution

• Strong oral and written communications skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meets deadlines

• Ability to work independently as well as part of team
