DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: DESCRIPTION Michael Baker International is looking to grow and enhance our practice and we are adding a Project Manager - Transportation to be a part of our Transportation Practice in Pittsburgh, PA. With limited guidance, the Project Manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated highway or traffic engineering design projects to ensure that goals or objectives of each project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. The Project Manager will provide engineering design and oversight in the successful delivery of transportation and public works projects throughout Pennsylvania as well as leading and mentoring project teams in design and delivery of infrastructure projects for PennDOT, the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and other municipalities, and counties. The Project Manager will build and maintain relationships with key client decision makers, keeping ahead of upcoming project advertisements and changes in the clients' organization. A working knowledge of Microstation/Openroads is anticipated to support effectively performing the tasks noted above. This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, per supervisor approval and client requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Review the project proposal or plan to determine the scope, schedule, budget, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources necessary for various phases of the project. * Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget. * Prepare project reports for management and progress reports for clients. * Participation in industry-related professional societies is encouraged. * Occasional travel may be required. * Other duties as assigned. * Oversee the design, analysis, reports, plan production, specification, estimates, etc. for state and local clients. * Lead large-scale projects with multiple disciplines and subconsultants. * Provide technical guidance and solutions on the highway design and traffic design discipline elements of projects. * Develop, monitor, and update schedules in ASTA Powerproject. * Implement Quality Assurance and conduct Quality Control procedures. * Arrange, prepare, and conduct meetings both internally and externally. * Review project status reports, modify schedules, and complete invoices for assigned projects. * Perform client engagement to foster strong relationships with clients, actively listen to their needs, and address any concerns promptly. Ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded throughout the project lifecycle. * Collaborate with our marketing team to promote our consulting services. Leverage your understanding of client needs to contribute to marketing strategies and campaigns. * Lead the development of compelling project proposals. Work closely with cross-discipline teams to create customized solutions that align with client requirements. * Identify and pursue new project opportunities. Coordinate proposal submissions and engage in client presentations to secure new business. * Train and/or mentor junior staff. * More experienced Project Managers are encouraged to apply *

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Opportunity to supervise employees within the Transportation Practice.

EXPERIENCE 10-15+ years related experience in roadway design and/or traffic design and analysis, and proven success managing complex projects. Preference given to PennDOT and local agency project experience.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Pennsylvania, or the ability to obtain a P.E. license in the State of Pennsylvania within four months of hire. A PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is encouraged but not required.

Preference given to PennDOT, City of Pittsburgh, and other local agencies * Proven experience in project management, preferably within a consulting environment. * Demonstrated ability to properly address and manage change. * Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills. * Software proficiency - roadway design software (MicroStation and Openroads Designer), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, ASTA Powerproject

COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $100,942 - $157,643 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
