Overview: The Sullivan County Department of Information Technology Services is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in Monticello, NY.

The Senior Network Engineer has responsibility for the overall engineering of the enterprise-wide network including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management and coordination of the County or municipalities LAN/WAN infrastructure. The incumbent will provide integrated team support and maintenance of LAN hardware and software. This position will provide liaison support between the PC/LAN team, vendors, and User Support staff. Work is performed under supervision of the Chief Information Officer and/or the Director of Operations and Network Administration, with leeway for independently performing the duties of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either: 1) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and eight (8) years experience in Network Engineering in a large enterprise environment with specific knowledge of Microsoft operating systems software as might be indicated by attaining generally recognized industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, VCP or CCNA; or 2) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate's Degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and ten (10) years experience as described in (A) above; or 3) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and twelve (12) years' experience as described in (A) above; or 4) An equivalent combination of experience and training as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above. SPECIAL NOTE: Nationally recognized system certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), VCP (VMWare Certified Professional) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) will be considered as meeting 3 months of experience for each certification. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT: Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license; ability to safely lift and carry fifty (50) pounds.

Salary: ENTRY: $72,976.00 FULL: $76,817.00
