Job descriptionThe Arc Middlesex County is a leading provider of services for people with disabilities since 1949. We have opportunities available for EXPERIENCED professionals to lead the operations at our residential Group Homes throughout NJ. Reporting to the Regional Director of Residential Services, this position serves as a key member of our management team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct the overall physical operation of the residence assigned, by ensuring proper facility, vehicle and personal property maintenance, as well as addressing issues of safety.Direct the overall support offered to residents, including provisions of appropriate medical and behavioral supports.Ensure fiscal soundness by supporting residents with banking and other financial maintenance agreements; assist with the development, management and implementation of the household budget; completion of regular audits of household and resident finances.Provide direct support to residents and role models such supports to staff by assisting with daily living skills, communicating and interacting with residents, facilitating community inclusion, maintaining finances, developing behavioral supports, and demonstrating the importance of residents being active and contributing citizens in their neighborhoods and local community.Maintain applicable regulatory standards, such as DDD licensing requirements and CARF standards.With the residents, develop IHP goals and objectives and monitors individual progress.Coordinate staff training by orienting new staff, arranging for staff to attend training and in-service sessions, and supporting on-going staff development.Enhances staff relations by using effective communication skills, encouraging growth and self development, facilitating an atmosphere of teamwork, employing conflict-resolution skills, and adequate support to staff.Attend training and conferences as assigned and see other opportunities for personal and professional growth.Attendance and participation at all relevant meetings.Must comply with all agency policies and procedures and any relevant requirements from outside agencies.The agency may assign employees to any duties and to any work site it deems necessary in its sole discretion.Ensure adequate staff in compliance with the Agency’s contract with the State.Actively advocates for the rights of residents.With residents, actively involved in the hiring of direct support professionals.Cooperates with Agency, DHS and DDD staff in inspections and investigations.Other duties may be assigned as needed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience OR Associate’s degree plus 3 years of related experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity OR High School Diploma with five years of related experience, including two years in Supervisory capacity preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Behavioral experience required with good communication (verbal and written) skills and a valid NJ License acceptable to our Insurance Company. Knowledge of Basic Computer Skills is a must.
