Workforce Resources Welder in Minersville, Pennsylvania

Our Client, a premier contract metals manufacturer located in Central Pennsylvania, is currently seeking an enthusiastic General Laborer to join their team. As a key player in the manufacturing industry, they offer a wide range of services including laser cutting, press brakes, welding, machining, powder coating and paint, and assembly, with a notable product line such as vending machines for Mini Melts Ice Cream. Their mission is to enhance their collaborative work environment, eliminating departmental divisions to foster a culture of teamwork and efficiency. As a Welder, you will play a crucial role in fabricating small to medium-sized weldments, ensuring they meet the technical requirements and quality standards expected by their diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications, understanding symbols, tolerances, and technical requirements for fitting and welding tasks.
  • Perform MIG welding on various metals, ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1 welding code standards.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for welding, including the setup of components for welding according to specifications.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and ensure quality control.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Welder, with strong skills in MIG welding processes.
  • Familiarity with the AWS D1.1 welding code and capable of passing a D1.1 welder qualification test.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, welding symbols, tolerances, and technical requirements for complex weldments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Skills in TIG welding of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel are a significant plus.
  • Certifications or the ability to become certified in additional welding processes or techniques.

Schedule/Compensation

  • 1st Shift
  • Monday-Thursday
  • 5:30am-4:00pm
  • Pay range is $20 - $24 for this position
