Family and Children's Association Senior Social Work Counselor in Mineola, New York
Senior Social Work Counselor
The Opportunity
FCA is seeking a Senior Social Work Counselor for our Nassau County Project Independence Program; a program that works with foster youth to develop independent living skills.
Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate independent living skills workshops.
Provide contacts and supports for foster families to facilitate implementation of independent living skills in the home.
Coordinate service efforts with DSS and intra-agency programs.
Conduct monthly home visits to youth.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education or related field required, Master's degree preferred.
One year full-time experience working with adolescents.
Valid NYS driver's license
Basic computer knowledge of MS Office.
Spanish speaking a plus.
Additional Information
Schedule:
Full Time, 35 hours per week.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm; and Wednesday 12pm-8pm, with occasional Saturday hours to meet the needs of the program.
Salary: $23.08
