Senior Social Work Counselor

The Opportunity

FCA is seeking a Senior Social Work Counselor for our Nassau County Project Independence Program; a program that works with foster youth to develop independent living skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate independent living skills workshops.

• Provide contacts and supports for foster families to facilitate implementation of independent living skills in the home.

• Coordinate service efforts with DSS and intra-agency programs.

• Conduct monthly home visits to youth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education or related field required, Master's degree preferred.

• One year full-time experience working with adolescents.

• Valid NYS driver's license

• Basic computer knowledge of MS Office.

• Spanish speaking a plus.

Additional Information

Schedule:

• Full Time, 35 hours per week.

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm; and Wednesday 12pm-8pm, with occasional Saturday hours to meet the needs of the program.

• Salary: $23.08
