School Based Clinician

The Opportunity

FCA is excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Families First School-Based Clinician located in Great Neck. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a school-based counselor position in our Family Support division.

The Associate School Counselor will provide trauma-informed, systems-based and strength-based psychotherapy services in Spanish to ENL/ESL students and their families as part of the Family First school-based counseling program. The Counselor maintains communication with school's Guidance team and ENLESL staff to benefit student's progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide school-based individual and family psychotherapy services to students in-school

  • Conduct group sessions with students in-school

  • Conduct initial client assessments; develop and implement treatment plans

  • Collaborate and communicate with other referral sources as well as other service providers

  • Maintain client case records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and FCA policies

  • Attend weekly supervision

  • Maintain Daily log of school hours

  • Collaborate with school staff to benefit student's treatment and ability to access resources

  • Engage in professional development training

  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of all Agency policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and basic wage and hour law regulations.

  • Meet regularly with the Clinical Director to communicate, on a timely basis, any crisis with client, issues and/or concerns affecting the team and its ability to comply with or attain the operational mission.

  • Assume other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as needed to ensure effective program and agency operations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in MFT, MHC, or MSW required.

  • LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC - Licensure pending with individual and family work experience; CASAC a plus

  • Spanish speaking, writing and clinical abilities required.

  • Minimum of two years' experience providing counseling services to adolescents and families, overcoming relationship issues, substance abuse, family conflict, domestic violence, school issues and related presenting concerns

  • Three years' experience working with at-risk families and youth.

  • Valid NYS driver's license with a safe and responsible driving history

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the ability readily adapt to program specific software.

Compensation Information

The competitive compensation range is reflected with FCA's framework, culture, and values. Individual pay decisions will vary based on skills and experience' while still allowing for growth.

Additional Information

  • $29.12 an hour

  • Schedule: (M-F), evening and weekend hours as needed

  • This role is full-time (35 hours/week), Non-exempt.
