Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Transporter - Part Time, Weekend Nights. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the day- to- day activities within the Winthrop Express Department. Carries out various clerical and office assignments as designated by the Winthrop Express Manager. Completes patient transports assignment and as needed oversees the day-to-day operation of the department in the absence of the department manager.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Ensures proper utilization of the computerized patient Transport Tracking system. Performs patient transports and reports related problems as directed.
    • Monitors employees adherence to departmental policies and procedures. Assists manager with annual performance appraisals. Interacts with department managers from testing, treatment, and patient areas to promote continuity of patient care.
    • Assists with staff scheduling and assigned payroll tasks. Organizes reviews, and records data collected to support department manager.
    • Monitors and reports status of departmental equipment. Maintains the availability, safe condition, and proper storage of all equipment required to perform patient transporting. Maintains proper cleanliness of equipment storage areas.
    • Promotes and maintains patient safety. Establishes patient identification in conjunction with the Ticket to Ride procedure before transport.
    • Responsible for all transport equipment. Clean/sanitizes transport equipment after use. Returns all transport equipment to the proper storage area when not in use. Practices safe handling and storage of oxygen tanks according to policy.
    • Ensures all transporters properly log in to the New Transport Tracking system. Monitors the use of Transport Tracking system that requests are entered properly. Monitors transporter is using transport system correctly.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 1 - 2 years Transport or related experience. Basic computer skills. . Good oral and written communication skills.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $22.78 - $25.07 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
