DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a County Casework Supervisor, you will supervise the provision of case management services to children, youth and families, individuals who have physical and intellectual disabilities, and others to provide assistance in attaining a more satisfactory social, economic, emotional, and/or physical adjustment.  This specialized work involves supervising and training a small group of professional county social service workers, in addition to managing a caseload depending on operational needs.

You will be responsible for assigning and reviewing the work of interns and coordinating training with college/university staff.  In addition, you may also provide supervision to paraprofessional human service workers and clerical staff.  Duties are performed in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures, while exercising considerable initiative and comprehensive independent judgment towards achieving objectives.  Work is reviewed by a professional or administrative supervisor through conferences, reports, and results attained.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
