Kedrion Biopharma Senior Project Manager/Senior Engineer in Melville, New York

The Senior Project Manager/Senior Engineer oversees all aspects of project management and site engineering, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects. He/She leads a team of project managers and engineers that achieve departmental goals and communicate with stakeholders. The leader's hands-on approach and strategic insight aligns all activities with business objectives at high safety levels and operational efficiency. This role prepares the site for the future by achieving our ambitious project goals on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a safe work environment complying with all labor laws and state and federal regulations.

  • Represent departments in company-wide safety teams, utilizing safety metrics and goals for improvement.

  • Oversee the execution of projects ensuring on-time, within budget, and quality delivery.

  • Develop and implement Project Management frameworks, processes, and best practices.

  • Directly manages one or more projects and oversees the management of projects or activities executed by junior project managers.

  • Identifies risks and issues that challenge achieving strategic goals: develops and implements plans to mitigate risk, resolve issues, and execute corrective actions.

  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts across Facilities, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

  • Conduct weekly reviews drive escalations to address and resolve critical project issues.

  • Facilitate governance processes and serve as a liaison between project teams and senior management to address issues and ensure appropriate project oversight.

  • Drive quarterly and annual planning processes ensuring alignment with the site operating plans.

  • Measure and report project progress while developing options and recommendations for moving project plans forward to maintain milestones and goals.

  • Create and maintain detailed project reports providing clear status, updates, and insights.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and timely updates.

  • Ensure project information is communicated to team members and other customers to ensure project success.

  • Coordinate communications within the organization as well as external contractors and consultants.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned or required.

Managerial / Supervisory

  • Manages and oversees direct reports.

  • Disciplines and terminates employees following approved company guidelines.

  • Establishes and communicates performance standards to meet or exceed standards.

  • Coaches’ others for success and to meet established goals and/or standards.

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains employees, as needed.

  • Oversees work assignments, supporting and rearranging workload of direct reports.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations including motivating and evaluating employees based on established performance standards.

  • Promotes staff retention by creating an open, positive, and supportive work environment.

  • Receives, investigates, and responds to employee grievances. Involves and obtains guidance from supervisor and human resources when needed.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related field required.

  • PMP Certification or equivalent required.

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in GMP Project Management and five (5) years Engineering experience, with at least five (5) years’ total in a supervisory role.

  • Highly proficient with MS Project or equivalent project management software. Powerpoint and Excel proficiency are a must.

  • Extensive knowledge of global cGMPs, regulations, and validation requirements.

  • Proven skills in coordinating efforts across diverse teams fostering collaboration and managing cross-group dependencies.

  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies and hands-on experience managing complex projects with strategic business goals and influence on stakeholders.

  • Highly organized and efficient, with close attention to detail, and capable of orchestrating multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong background in streamlining processes, eliminating silos, and improving visibility in project and resource management.

  • Ability to engage deeply in project details, address issues proactively, and drive successful outcomes through a detailed and pragmatic approach.

  • Capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.

Work is primarily light in nature, with exerting up to 25lbs of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, bending, stooping, and walking. Involves sitting, standing, and walking most of the time.
