Lowe's Regional Investigation Manager in Melville, New York
Purpose of Role:
The purpose of this role is to investigate losses associated with theft and fraud as well as minimize liability for Lowe's by conducting fact-based investigations that align with the Lowe's regulatory policies and procedures. This position provides decisions and oversight on employee, organized retail crime, and fraud-based investigations. This role is responsible for maintaining the Lowe's brand by mitigating the company’s liabilities. This role will also be responsible for directing, coaching and leading Lowe's APS personnel and MORCM on investigations.
Responsibility Statements:
•Conduct employee, organized retail crime, and fraud based investigations to reduce losses and risk throughout the Lowe's.
•Conduct remote investigations utilizing system and applications to limit length of dishonesties to include phone interviews
•Conduct in store investigations for high trending stores or stores that missed inventory shrink plan by an excessive amount.
•Lead in the continuous evaluation of and orchestration of Asset Protection / Investigative training sessions to include coordinating and conducting training sessions for all levels of APS personnel.
•Lead, direct and execute training for system/applications designed to assist in identification of theft and fraud for all levels of APS personnel. Participate in the design and enhancement of all system and applications that assist in identification of theft/ fraud and documentation of investigations
•Communicate investigations to the Regional APS Director, Director of Investigations and VP of APS as necessary
•Lead, Direct and Manage Market ORC Managers assigned within the region for all theft and fraud investigations and day to day activities
•Collaborate with the Refund Administration staff and Lowes.com Fraud team to identify instances of organized retail crime and fraud activity in the field to minimize loss at Lowe's
•Lead and execute decision for all internal cases being handled by APS personnel through discussion with Regional APS Director and the Director of Investigation or VP of APS as necessary.
•Lead and participate in ORCA within the assigned geographical area to initiate legislative efforts to assist retail in pursuit and prosecution of ORC offenders
•Maintains active participation in the Organized Retail Crime Associations, RILA, MRC and CNP in order to remain knowledgeable regarding loss prevention efforts of theft and fraud in the industry and effect legislation favorable to retailers and Lowe’s
•Handles all Legal Investigations as well as Ethicspoint and Contact Center complaints related to theft or fraud or other investigative needs as assigned by the Regional APS Director the Director of Investigations or VP of APS
•Training, Coaching and developing MORCM, DAPSM, Senior APSM and Asset Protection and Safety Managers on investigation and interview skills
•Identify external, internal and ORC trends within the Region and works with Senior Corporate Investigator to create strategies to mitigate risk and loss (i.e. Shrink, Margin, Fraud, etc.)
•Building relationships with police, detectives and external agencies to assist Lowe’s and reducing losses and other threats
•Either owns and leads and/or facilitates training of the APS team in identifying shrink and theft behaviors through the use of data intelligence gathering via social media and data driven behaviors
•Identifies and communicates significant investigations and trends to the RAPSD, Director of Investigations, APS personnel along with potential loss and expense associated and advocates mitigating strategies to prevent future loss/expense
•Owns, coaches and develops the entire APS organization on case management and quality assurance through consistent reviews and feedback on a case by case basis to reduce liability and increase efficiencies
•Establishes consistent development and accountability for activities with the APS team at region, market and store levels to include internal investigations and interview techniques, ORC training and deployment and training for new technology and tools to identify fraudulent behavior
•Collaborate with Store Operations Support on policy and procedures to minimize in store credit card fraud and enhance compliance with PCI regulations and laws
Required Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field of study
• 5 years Military experience or comparable military police and special forces experience
• 5 years’ experience multi-store leadership
• 5 years’ experience conducting investigative employee interviews
• 3 years’ experience organization Retail Crime investigations
Preferred Education/Experience:
• Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) or Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) or Certified Interview and Interrogation-Wicklander-Zulawski
Pay Range: $114,600.00 - $191,000.00 annually
