Delaware County Community College Grant Accountant in Media, Pennsylvania
Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a talented and dedicated Grant Accountant to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Finance, the Grants Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of grant funding for the College. Ensures compliance with grant requirements, prepares financial reports, and maintains accurate records of expenditures.
· Manages all financial aspects of grants, including invoicing, budgeting, forecasting, reconciling, and reporting.
· Monitors grant expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and grant terms.
· Prepares financial reports for stakeholders.
· Prepares, Reviews, approve invoices for grant-related expenditures.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to funding.
· Assists in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for grant proposals.
· Coordinates with program managers and staff to ensure proper allocation of grant funds.
· Provides training and support to staff on grant compliance and financial management.
· Analyzes financial data to identify trends and opportunities for grant management.
· Partners with other departments at DCCC including Academic Advancement and Ed Foundation to ensure compliance with grant restrictions and requirements.
· Ensures grant payments are properly recorded in a timely manner and manages the grants receivable accounts; Participate in interactive, on-site meetings during normal business hours and on a regular basis; regular on-site Finance Department office hours.
· Maintain regular attendance per established work schedule.
· Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic team player who fosters collaboration. This individual will be able to demonstrate the use of best practice strategies associated with all aspect of accounting practices and compliance. This individual will demonstrate a spirit of an independent problem-solver with the analytic ability to elicit, organize and translate data as well as a strong understanding of the College's mission and goals. The Grant Accountant will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism when dealing with sensitive financial information as well as prioritize and meet deadlines under strict
constraints. The Grant Accountant will also have a demonstrated ability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thought and perspective of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive environment and drive results.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of accounting related activities in a professional setting, prior experience in grant administration in higher education, non-profit, or public accounting preferred. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance or a related field of study is required; or equivalent combination of education and related experience; Master's degree is preferred.
