Delaware County Community College is dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and visitors. We are seeking a diligent and reliable part-time Custodian to join our team
The Custodian will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that our facilities are clean, safe, and presentable. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic.
Essential Functions
Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
Dust and clean surfaces, including windows, mirrors, and fixtures
Refinish floors and clean carpets
Assist with setting up and breaking down for events and meetings
Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate must have the ability to read and write and follow simple instructions; two years custodian experience in a school setting preferred; able to read and understand English; ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds of weight; able to work additional hours and some weekends as needed; third shift must have transportation (10:00 p.m. -- 6:00 a.m.); may be required to work on ladders or lifts.
