Aurora Social Rehabilitation Services Program Coordinator in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

Aurora Social Rehabilitation Services is a community non-profit organization providing services for adults with mental illness and intellectual and/or development disabilities for over 50 years. With Social Rehabilitation drop-in centers in Harrisburg, and Mechanicsburg, Aurora facilitates recovery among those served with opportunities for empowerment and self-direction through life skills training, educational programs, community outings, etc.

Aurora is looking for an upbeat, motivated person to fill our Program Coordinator position for our Cumberland County site in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This position can be either full or part time. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of the day-to-day activities of the drop-center.  This includes activities planning and implementation, general oversight of the building, and other duties as required.  This position reports to the Executive Director.

Critical Elements:

  • Manages drop-in center program, assuring consumers' needs are met and that programs meet contracted service agreements.
  • Administrative responsibilities include successful management of sign-in sheets, client files, referral information, scheduling and giving tours to prospective consumers and follow-up.
  • With the Executive Director, manages budget for food, activities, and supplies for the site.
  • In conjunction with Executive Director and Assistant Director, develops new or modifies existing programs to best meet members' needs.
  • Ensures that the program is stocked with necessary supplies for daily lunches, coffee and any program items needed for activities.
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner as required by our funders and payroll.
  • Maintains working relationships with members' Case Managers and families.
  • Oversees meals served, including monthly menu planning.
  • Is responsible for ensuring general cleanliness and maintenance of the center.
  • Is responsible for making sure that the van is up to date with all maintenance.
  • Participates in monthly IDD activites.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Social Services, Psychology or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma and two years' experience in social services or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
