Job Summary:

The primary function of the Cleaning Room Technician is to operate and maintain equipment to chemically clean grease, scale, dirt and other foreign matter from metal objects to prepare them for processes such as electroplating, inspection, assembly and packaging. 

Essential Functions:

• Maintain clean working environment
• Performs preventative maintenance on assigned items
• Removes shavings, dirt and corrosion film from objects
• Places objects on racks or in containers and immerses objects in chemical and rinsing solutions
• Sets controls to regulate temperature and agitation of solution
• Maintains consistency of cleaning solutions by adding specified amount of chemical to solutions
• Drains, cleans and refills tanks with chemicals. Dries objects.
• Examines cleaned objects to ensure conformance to standards
• Maintain an inventory of supplies notifying the Assembly Supervisor of shortages
• Perform the job with minimal supervision

• Perform other assignments as required by Assembly Supervisor

   

   

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

-High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

-No experience required.

Language Skills:

-Fluent in English (Good Communication Skills)

Mathematical Skills:

-Basic Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)

Reasoning Ability:

-Ability to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and verbal instructions

Physical Demands:

-Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

-When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and tools or controls and talk or hear

-Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.

-The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop and kneel.

-Specific vision abilities require close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

-Clean Room Technician will work near heated ultrasonic baths.

-Noise level is usually very high and hearing protection is required

-Cleaning Room Technician occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
