Vanguard Senior Investment Writer in Malvern, Pennsylvania

The writing team in Corporate Communications serves as a center of creative excellence, providing the highest-quality content to promote Vanguard’s perspectives. Our work amplifies the voice of Vanguard for the media, industry influencers, and portfolio companies, always with the end investor in mind. As a senior investment writer here, you'll work with Vanguard thought leaders to share timely insights and observations (http://https/corporate.vanguard.com/content/corporatesite/us/en/corp/what-we-think/perspectives-and-commentary.html) that demonstrate how and why Vanguard is different from other companies in the industry.

We are looking for a writer who can go deep into topics like the economy/markets and portfolio construction, with a broad understanding of financial wellness and planning, retirement, and investor behavior. You’re someone who champions great storytelling and can identify opportunities to add value with commentary and insights. You’re enthusiastic about writing for social media and you embrace multimedia projects. Our senior investment writers are seen as trusted partners and communications experts, and they can manage stakeholders up to the executive level when the project demands it. The right candidate is the creative engine that drives their projects and has a knack for distilling sometimes-complex financial and investing topics into content that our audiences can identify with and share more broadly.

Senior Investment Writer:

  • Creates in-depth, compelling communications and positioning on a range of subjects, including Vanguard funds, products, and services; financial markets; the economy; regulatory matters; portfolio construction and theory, and internal communication topics.

  • Displays versatility in producing clear communications through a wide range of styles and channels, including responsive web pages, campaigns, ads, emails, presentations, blogs, videos, letters, articles, videos, and social media channels.

  • Expertly presents and "sells" content and design solutions to senior management, project teams, partners, and stakeholders. Ensures the success of the strategy.

  • Assumes a leadership role on key projects for the department or cross departments that require data analytics and subject matter expertise, including responsive web pages, timely communications, campaigns, visioning, testing, and news.

  • Provides creative direction and guidance on messaging and/or content strategy across mediums-working closely and collaboratively with designers, developers, marketing managers, and business leaders. Leads the creation of new approaches or processes with a 1–3-year outlook.

  • Serves as mentor to less experienced writers by providing specific feedback on their copy, story ideas, new media formatting, and interviewing skills.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

  • Minimum five years related work experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

  • CFP or CFA preferred.
