The Engineer I is responsible for identification and implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance systems. This system is required to ensure that plant and facility equipment operate efficiently to minimize production interruptions and unscheduled downtime. The Engineer I will conduct and/or assists in repairs (corrective maintenance) and preventive maintenance of process equipment, building support and laboratory systems. Participate in rotations for after-hours facility and manufacturing support, sometimes outside of standard shift hours or upon short notice.

The Role

  • Lead department change control initiatives, support facilities department in critical and clear writing (deviations, change action, investigation, and complaints), root cause analysis.

  • Write and update policies/procedures for maintenance and facility activities.

  • Assemble/troubleshoot operations process equipment (feeding, micronizing, milling, isolation).

  • Assist and support facilities equipment qualification and validation projects.

  • Monitor BAS systems for continuous operation of HVAC systems.

  • Interpret appropriate diagrams and panel drawings for process/system equipment.

  • Coordinate projects with other departments, contractors, vendors, and consultants.

  • Maintain a strong working relationship with other departments and organizational SMEs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline required.

  • Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience in regulated GMP environment required.

  • Prior micronization experience a plus.

  • Experience in troubleshooting, calibration, repair and testing of HVAC, laboratory and utilities equipment.

  • Generative AI is a plus.

  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day; bench, crouch, climb steps and ladders.

  • Safety shoes when applicable.

  • Lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

  • Wear a respirator and pass the required respiratory medical clearance.
