The Vanguard Group Application Engineer III in Malvern, Pennsylvania

Application Engineer III (The Vanguard Group, Inc. / Malvern, PA) -- Provide senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases; integrate third party products; translate technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients; write programs, develop code, test artifacts, and produce reports; employ software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that support automation; elevate code into development, test, and production environments on schedule; provide follow up production support; submit change control requests and documents; utilize thorough understanding of software development methodology and architecture standards; train and mentor staff with less experience; resolve elevated issues; participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout life cycle to identify issues; explain technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients; perform systems analysis activities; utilize thorough understanding of client business functions and technology needs and broad understanding of technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems; interface with cross functional team members and communicate systems issues at appropriate technical level for each audience; utilize thorough understanding and compliance with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures and verify that deliverables meet requirements. Requires Master's in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, or closely related field and two years of experience in job offered or in IT position(s) including Data Science Engineer and/or Software Developer and/or Programming Intern; or Bachelor's and five years of experience. Background in education, training or experience must include Data Engineering/Data Science including analyzing and organizing raw data; experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines, architecting robust AWS solutions to meet business outcomes; experience with cloud databases; must be able to transform raw data to meet business needs, develop analytical tools; experience with analytical platforms including Athena, leveraging different AWS tools including Glue, ECS, EMR, S3, Redshift, Kinesis Firehose, SageMaker, building and utilizing machine learning models; experience using business intelligence tools including Tableau, utilizing raw and preprocessed data for model training; experience utilizing pre-existing deep learning/machine learning models; experience with Python; strong AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, Glue, S3); Data Analytics Specialty certification (AWS). Company operates on hybrid model with three days in office and work-from-home available two days
