Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated graduating student to join our CFM Engineering team as a New College Graduate to become part of our state-of-the-art 300mm factory. This position is responsible to for recipe settings for the overall CFM team. This position is located in our Malta, NY site.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Formulate effective inline inspection strategy & methodology to support advanced technology development activities.

  • Establish DOIs defect characterization techniques and drive inline CFM recipes optimization and innovation to meet defect capture rate.

  • Setup and optimized each layers recipe for optimal DOIs capture rate. Ability to work with the recipe team to achieve the intended result.

  • Support critical yield learning and prototype lots inspection and result analysis based on committed cycle time.

  • Design, execute and analyze partition studies to evaluate process results or equipment baseline performances to achieve industry competency standards.

  • Drive defect characterization and compile comprehensive defect translation (DSA) & PFA analysis in their sectors. Measurement by the number of Defect Characterization report for each sector.

  • Demonstrate the ability to isolate suspected processes and drive modules/ integration in defect reduction activity.

  • Demonstrate the ability and initiative to ensure proper documentation and work closely with recipe and inline ops team.

  • Required hands-on for day to day review of information, evaluation of defect monitoring strategies and understanding of defect mechanisms with the mindset of making a difference.

  • Support integration and module in their sector DOE splits and CFM data analysis with the ability to draw technical conclusions.

  • Maintain top inline Defect Pareto & trend charts updated, performed deep dive on all sectors to understand defect mechanism and work with PI/ UP for containment/solutions.

  • Work proactively & innovatively to look for issue in assigned area and constantly improve our defect detection capability and NV rate

  • Drive continuous improvement to streamline CFM workflow on defect detection efficiency and defect monitoring.

  • Take ownership and initiate value-added inspection/ review solution to help improve overall team efficiency in defect detection

  • Drive wafer less recipe setup thru Design Based methodology & GDS2CA.

  • Evaluate and implement Design Based Inspection solution and SMART review concept for all inline scan.

  • Provide effective leadership and mentorship for defect technicians executing defect scans or data reviews in support of the program.

  • Required to work in a clean-room environment to supervise, execute or oversee activities.

  • Always work as a team and be flexible and resourceful to achieve the best result on a given timeline.

  • Demonstrate the ability to do the RIGHT thing and share the RIGHT method to improve our capability/ productivity.

  • Positions include shift schedules, including evenings and weekends. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing support across all shifts.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or related field from an accredited degree program.

  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.

  • Possess strong communication skills with the ability to develop the strong inter-personnel relationship.

  • Some international travel (duration: 3-6 months) may be required

  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

  • Candidates for this position are expected to work in night shift system including weekend coverage.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.

  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.

  • Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong planning & organizational skills

  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments

Expected Salary Range

$52,500.00 - $107,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
