Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Packaging Engineer in Mahwah, New Jersey. As a Packaging Engineer you will be tasked with developing and designing packaging equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and analyzing engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires the use of judgement in applying detail-oriented expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and design packaging equipment and materials for the safe and efficient transport of goods

• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate packaging materials based on the physical characteristics of the product and its special handling requirements

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in packaging and transporting methods and procedures

• Evaluate and recommend efficient packing procedures, innovative packaging materials, and the use of sealing and fastening devices

• Utilize detail-oriented judgement and expertise to work independently with minimal supervision

• Understand and apply procedures and concepts related to the discipline of packaging engineering

• Make judgements based on practice and previous experience in the field of packaging engineering

Requirements • Proficiency in engineering principles, with a specific focus on packaging engineering

• Demonstrated experience in materials handling and transporting

• Ability to supervise team members and coordinate tasks

• Knowledge of different packaging materials and components

• Familiarity with engineering drawings and the ability to interpret them accurately

• Profound understanding of quality standards and procedures related to packaging engineering

• Experience in developing and implementing methods and specifications for packaging

• Ability to ensure compliance with industry and company standards

• Proficiency in using packaging equipment effectively

• Understanding of NIS (Nuclear Information System) or similar systems in the engineering field
