In partnership with the state funded Morris School District Preschool Expansion Program, the F.M. Kirby Children's Center of the Madison Area YMCA is seeking a full-time lead teacher with a P-3 certification. The lead teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing curriculum, the health and safety of the children, communication with parents and supervision and evaluation of classroom staff. This is school year (August 2024 - June 2025) contract position and the hours required for this position are 8:45am-4:00pm and will follow the Morris School District calendar. Essential Functions:Prepare and carry out developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily activities for the children. Supervise, mentor, and guide assistant teachers.Maintain a clean and safe environment for optimal growth and development.Be responsible for recording and maintaining all required paperwork. Attend professional development days and staff and parent meetings.Qualifications:New Jersey State P-3 certification required.Curriculum planning experience is preferred.Previous experience with supervisory experience.Possess at hire and maintain CPR, First Aid, & AED certifications. Will train.Working Conditions: Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. May also require bending, kneeling, leaning. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is possible. Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Able to administer first aid.
