POSITION : Director of Technology

CERTIFICATION : School District Leader (SDL) or School Building Leader (SBL) - eligible for new Administrator Certificate

QUALIFICATIONS : 3-5 years teaching experience and building-based administrative experience preferred, knowledge of instructional and information technology preferred.

DESCRIPTION :

The Director of Technology is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all technology initiatives within the school district. This role ensures the effective and efficient use of technology to enhance teaching, learning, administrative operations, and communication across the district. The Director of Technology will lead a team of technology professionals and collaborate with administrators, teachers, and staff to integrate innovative technology solutions that support the district's educational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Strategic Leadership and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive district-wide technology plan aligned with the district's strategic goals and educational vision.

  • Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.

  • Responsible for technology related grants and preparation of related forms/paperwork: ERate, Smart Schools Bond Act, ECF and any additional state funding related to the technology needs of the district

  • Stay abreast of current technology trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to educational technology.

  • Facilitate the District Technology Committee in a collaborative manner to promote communication.

  • Manage and complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.

Technology Infrastructure and Support:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the district's network infrastructure, hardware, software, and telecommunications systems.

  • Ensure the security and reliability of all technology systems, including data protection and cybersecurity measures.

  • Manage the district's technology support services, providing timely and effective assistance to staff and students.

  • Develop and maintain technology policies and procedures.

Instructional Technology Knowledge and Integration:

  • Collaborate with curriculum and instruction leaders to integrate technology into teaching and learning practices.

  • Evaluate and recommend instructional software and hardware to support student learning.

  • Promote the use of technology to enhance student engagement and achievement.

  • Lead Computer Based Testing for Grades 3-8.

  • General knowledge of computers and networking.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee the management of student information systems and other educational data systems.

  • Ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of student and staff data.

  • Generate reports and data analysis to support decision-making and improve district operations.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise technology staff.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the technology team, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Compliance and Communication:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to technology use and data privacy (e.g., FERPA, CIPA).

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and the community, about technology initiatives and issues.

    Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology and Superintendent.

SALARY : $90,000-100,000 Commensurate with experience

EFFECTIVE DATE : June 1, 2025
