Job overview:
This role reports to neurosurgery Lead APP and Service Line AVP. Provides comprehensive care to patients across inpatient, outpatient and operative settings.The APP works collaboratively with neurosurgeons and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes through high quality, evidence-based care.
Job Requirements:
Master s degree in Nursing required.
Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.
CPR certification.
NP Certification.

Days
Essential Functions:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
Assist in preoperative and post operative care
Perform procedures: lumbar punctures, wound care, suturing, intracranial pressure monitoring
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging,
Develop treatment plans in collaboration with neurosurgeons
Round on neurosurgical patients in the ICU and step down units
Collaborate with critical care teams
Educates patients and families on surgical procedures
Mentors and trains residents, APP students and nursing staff
