Overview: The Sullivan County Department of Public Works is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Mechanic in Monticello, NY.

This position involves the performance of manual duties in the care and maintenance of grounds, parks, roadways, cemeteries, recreation areas, and parking lots. Although a basic knowledge of one or more trades is necessary, a maintenance assistance does not require journeyman level skill. Duties may include operation of several types of motorized equipment including trucks over 26,000 GVW. Work is performed under general instructions and supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of experience in either general building construction or maintenance work involving one or more of the standard trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating/ventilation, etc. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: In agencies where required, possession of an appropriate class New York State motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment.

Shift, Salary, and Benefits: This is a full-time position, Salary Hourly Entry Rate: $28.8815 Hourly Full Rate: $29.3815
