The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking motivated and responsible Park Resource Rangers to provide public safety work throughout Beltzville State Park! Our park encompasses over 3,000 acres and nests a thriving trout stream, a sandy beach, and numerous recreational facilities. If you are open to a non-traditional work schedule and want to play an integral role in the operation of a park that is cherished by our visitors, we want you to join our team!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Park Resource Ranger, you will be responsible for visitor services, outdoor recreation, and public safety within Beltzville State Park. You will alleviate problems and potential threats to the health and safety of our visitors, as well as inspect buildings, grounds, and facilities for safety hazards. You will monitor visitor activities to ensure proper use of facilities, provide them with information regarding park activities, and make sure they are informed of all park rules and policies. Additionally, you will provide proper and efficient emergency care to park visitors when necessary, including CPR, first aid, and search and rescue for lost persons.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Seasonal, full-time employment without benefits. Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch. Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: No minimum experience and training required.

Special Requirements: This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license. All employees must obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance. In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 this position is required to complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years.
