MRI Weekend Technologist Saturday and Sunday 7 AM-7 PM. Premium weekend rate including benefits. On the Job Cross Training available for eligible Technologist.

Performs MRI examinations on patients based on department procedures and under direction of

department Section Chief and Manager. The position will require a significant degree of

judgment in the performance of assigned duties. The intent of this job description is to provide a

summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a

detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

Weekend MRI Technologist Days!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for the successful technical continuity of care for patients receiving MRI studies.

  2. Communicates to radiologists clinical observations made during MRI examination. Presents clinical history as recorded on appropriate documentation to radiologist.

  3. Demonstrates competency in venipuncture skill for patients requiring contrast administration during MRI studies.

  4. Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate to their job responsibilities.

  5. Assists in gathering, recording data and serving as committee member for Radiology Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement program.

  6. Accurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients.

  7. Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.

  8. Provides educational information to the patient regarding their examination.

  9. Accountable for quality of digital images sent to PACS. Verify correct patient is selected from worklist, ensures accuracy of Medical Record information prior to being sent to PACS.

  10. Reviews patient safety checklist prior to patient’s study.

  11. Annual peer review of images meets department standards.

  12. Responsible for the success of the department to achieve Press Ganey goal. Every patient should receive patient education and your personalized business card. Apology cards should be sent or given to all patients when we do not meet their expectations.

  13. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information.

  14. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.

  15. Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).

  16. Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.

  17. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. 18. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

  18. Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
