MANUFACTURING SUPPORT SPECIALIST

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING SUPPORT SPECIALIST Provide support to the Manufacturing area with consideration for the goals and objectives of the area. Create moderately complex reports, charts and graphs as instructed by Area Manager. Facilitates team meetings. Participates in project teams and provides problem solving expertise as required. Work with personnel, systems and equipment to achieve and maintain desired work center performance. Corrects work center performance issues after they are identified. Maintain advanced knowledge of the existing manufacturing systems including the computer systems, steel making processes, material flow and handling schemes, quality systems and process control techniques while developing knowledge of new systems and processes. Orders and stocks parts, supplies, measuring tools and hand tools. Creates SOP and FMEA documents as instructed. Evaluate new equipment, and process and maintenance technologies and provides feedback to management. Participates in the development of equipment scheduling rates and guidelines. Provides training to process operators. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE MANUFACTURING SUPPORT SPECIALIST Four-year college degree preferred. High School Diploma required. Two or more year of relevant experience. Solves a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures Responds to non-standard requests from customers; investigates with assistance from others as needed. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to evaluate new equipment, and process and maintenance technologies. Ability to perform independent work on limited assignments under close supervision. Ability to operate a computer workstation and the appropriate software/hardware. Ability to work in a production oriented environment. Ability to train and develop others. Ability to work under frequently changing priorities and deadlines. Verbal and written communication skills. Problem solving skills. Project management skills.
