We are currently seeking both full-time and part-time Direct Support Professionals to work with a gentleman in Delaware County. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping individuals with disabilities to live a life of their choosing, and good interpersonal and leadership skills. The main purpose of this role is to assist him in living a self-determined life. As a Support Partner you will provide direct support to him in his own home and community. You will provide oversight of medical documentation, setting up appointments and personal finances.

 

This person loves to be out and about in the community; he requires someone who has experience supporting non-verbal persons. He also loves the ocean and swimming!

 

The ideal candidate will have a calm personality and energetic approach to supporting a person with a unique combination of needs. The ideal candidate will be motivational in their approach to guiding and assisting this person to live a full and meaningful life. We will be creating a team of people who are dedicated to supporting a person live their life to the fullest, who are engaged in the community and who are supportive to the person and their fellow team members.

You Must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid driver's license/clean driving record
  • Have access to a reliable vehicle, proof of current vehicle registration, inspection, and insurance for use throughout your work with the person supported
  • Be comfortable providing total personal care including all hygiene care and changing of adult diapers.
  • Work at a heavy physical demand capacity (defined as standing and/or walking eight hours of an eight hour day with occasionally lifting 100 pounds maximum and frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds);

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year experience supporting people to live in the community.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license with a safe driving record.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle, proof of current vehicle registration, inspection, and insurance.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Be or willing to be Covid-19 Vaccinated prior to employment.
