About this Role: As a Senior Accountant, you'll leverage your solid accounting foundation to dive deep into cost accounting, play a pivotal role in preparing financial statements, and conduct insightful financial analyses. You'll be a key partner to the Director of Finance, providing essential support to drive our department's success. What You Will Do:

  • Cost Accounting Functions: Drive cost accounting functions by tracking and analyzing average costs, cost variances, and overhead expenses.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Finance and operations team to ensure proper accounting for inventory, labor, and manufacturing costs.

  • Financial Planning: Participate in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.

  • Closing Processes: Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of audit schedules.

  • Internal Controls: Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting processes to safeguard the company’s financial data.

  • Reporting: Prepare reports and financial analyses to assist ownership and department managers with decision-making, cost-saving initiatives, and operational improvements.

  • Cash Flow Management: Assist the Director of Finance with cash flow management.

  • Tax Returns: Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual state sales tax returns.

  • Project Participation: Participate in business-related projects and activities as requested by management.

  • Ethics and Confidentiality: Adhere to Sealing Devices’ and the Accounting Department’s Code of Ethics and Confidentiality.

    What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • At least 3-5 years of accounting experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment or public accounting.

  • Understanding of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and cost analysis.

  • Proficient computer skills with common business applications, including ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.

  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not required.

    Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members. Salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 annually based upon experience.
