Description

The Arc Mid-Hudson, one of the area's leaders in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Ulster, Greene and Putnam counties, is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and innovative Master’s level clinician to lead team members in providing services to disabled adults.

The Social Worker/Applied Behavioral Science Specialist is responsible for the provision of relevant clinical services (e.g., counseling, assessments, psycho-education) following formulation of treatment plans relative to the cognitive developmental disabilities of those they work with. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain an active clinic caseload, providing counseling (individual, group, couples, or families), Sexuality Awareness Program (SAP), and Multi-Sensory Environment (MSE) sessions.

  • Provide various assessments within the clinic, including but not limited to Dementia Assessments, IQ testing and Adaptive Scales, Psychological Evaluations, Sexual Consent Assessments, Risk Assessments, and Discipline Specific Assessments.

  • Complete relevant clinic documentation, including session notes and billing documentation, in a timely manner, which meets regulations for billing and quality of care.

  • Maintain a minimum of 35 weekly billable units.

  • Conduct intake sessions, as needed.

  • Respond to crisis situations, as needed or requested.

  • Perform relevant follow-up based on incident recommendations provided by QM.

  • Provide Intensive Behavioral Services (IBS) and Family Support Services (FSS), as requested.

  • Perform chart reviews.

  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Collaborate with Staff Development to provide training to staff, as needed.

  • Attend department, clinic, and supervisory meetings.

  • Provide assistance to collaterals to help them support/understand the persons we serve, as needed.

  • Advise those they support of other services/supports, which may assist them in developing their psychosocial goals.

  • Pursue continuing education to maintain professional credentials, as required.

  • Provide temporary coverage for other clinician’s cases, as needed.

  • Adhere to the highest standards set forth by the American Psychological Association and other related regulatory bodies and serve as a role model to embrace promote, and safeguard the agency values of respect, integrity, and compassion.

  • Uphold the agency values and adhere to the highest standard professional ethics and conduct.

  • Maintain professional standards of social work services.

  • Ensure the department maintains the confidentiality of the persons we serve and their families with regards to their protected health information.

    HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/9:00 am to 5:00 pm/flexible, based on needs of program

    SALARY: $52,769.60 to $ 61,476.59 per year

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related field. LCSW or LMHC preferred.

  • Experience working with I/DD preferred.
