Anticipated period of employment: Jun 05, 2025 to Oct 15, 2025
Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license. Manually seed, transplant, cultivate, grow and harvest fruits & vegetables by hand and machine including but not limited to: sweetcorn, tomatoes, peppers, squash, cabbage, eggplant, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, beets, onions, potatoes, melons, beans, broccoli & pumpkins. Use hand tools, such as shovels, hoes, tampers, pruning shears, & knives. Greenhouse work in a temperature-controlled environment including but not limited to cleaning, filling, and seeding trays, watering transplants and transporting plants to field for planting. Duties include trellising and repair fences & farm buildings. Weeding, thinning, and pruning vegetables without damage to plants and roots. Drive and operate trucks, forklifts, tractors, tractor drawn machinery, self-propelled farm machinery. Harvest, pack and transport flowers, fruits and vegetables to farmstand. Operate chain saw to cut fire wood. Set up and operate irrigation during growing and harvesting of vegetables & fruits. Grading, sorting, cleaning, making boxes, packing and loading trucks with fruits & vegetables in the field or farm buildings. Mix and apply pesticides and fertilizers to crops. Maintain, repair, clean and sanitize farm equipment. Must be physically able to lift 75lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. Must be able to bend, stoop, and stand on feet for long periods of time planting, weeding & harvesting fruits & vegetables. While working in the field, all cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only. Workers must have three months of verifiable experience in above.
