Position Summary:

This position works closely with each branch and store support team member to compile, classify, record, verify and maintain accounts receivable records. This individual works under the direction of the Controller and is part of the Finance team, occasionally helping with accounts payable and other finance functions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Sets up new customer accounts;

  • Posts customer cash receipts to proper accounts in ERP system;

  • Prepares daily bank deposit slips;

  • Responsible for contacting assigned customers regarding past due invoices;

  • Approves the release of sales orders based on customer credit status;

  • Researches customer payment discrepancies and makes necessary adjustments;

  • Obtains proper sales tax exemption documentation;

  • Processes customer credit card payments on account;

  • Provides customer month end balance information to affiliated credit group;

  • Assists with running of monthly customer statements;

  • Performs customer account maintenance;

  • Posts daily branch cash reports and researches any differences;

  • Responds to customer and employee inquiries;

  • Assists with special projects as required;

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    Education, Work Experience & Specialized Skills or Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 3+ years of relevant accounts receivable experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience using ERP systems preferably in a distribution or manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to form relationships with customers and co-workers.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (especially Excel).

  • Experience using Formstack or similar automation tool.

  • Ability to use internal and vendor websites to assist with problem resolution.

  • Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.

  • Detail orientated, proactive, and driven to execute high quality work on time.

  • Ability to multi-task and work on various projects simultaneously keeping them on track and providing clear status updates.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.Bilingual is a plus.

  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential information.

  • Ability to work independently while keeping manager and management team informed in an appropriate and timely manner.
