The Social Media Content Intern will be responsible for supporting the organic social media team with the creation of social media content specific to emerging social platforms. The intern will identify innovative content styles, conduct platform research, and create a series of educational and entertaining social media posts.By using their research skills and understanding of platform trends, this position plays an important role in contributing to TNC's global social media strategy. The intern will be a member of the Global Digital team.As the Social Media Content Intern, you will:Identify innovative content styles that can be used to increase engagementCreate a series of social media posts, with a special focus on Threads, Bluesky and Instagram/Facebook StoriesTurn complex messaging about climate change and biodiversity into compelling content that is easy to understandGain familiarity with TNC's social media management software to organize and schedule content.Research social media trends, emerging platforms and opportunities to grow TNC's audienceSupport the execution of the team's weekly social media content calendarWE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUAre you an aspiring marketing and communications professional interested in sharing compelling stories via social media? TNC is seeking a mission-driven Social Media Content Intern who is eager to create their own social media content, share it with a global audience, and help advance TNC's conservation goals. This is a paid 10-week summer internship. The intern can be an undergraduate student, graduate student or recent graduate. This position is home-based in the United States and will provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and real-world work. We offer an orientation, professional networking opportunities, and real-world work experience.WHAT YOU'LL BRINGMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHS Diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate (or graduate) program of communications, marketing, or related field, or a recent graduate with a degree in one of these or a related field.Experience/interest in social media management and the application of content marketing practices.Proficient in clear and professional written and verbal communication.Experience with ensuring accuracy and quality in design projects, including photo and video content.Experience with understanding digital media landscape, including various social media platforms.Access to a reliable internet connectionDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience writing social content for non-personal social media platformsCoursework and/or exposure related to communications/marketing or conservationInterest in data and how it is used to inform content productionSelf-starter, taking initiative, and demonstrating confidence to ask questions and seek inputStrong organizational skills and attention to detailComfortable learning a variety of digital tools like Asana, Canva and moreMulti-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciatedAn appreciation of the natural worldWHAT WE BRINGSince 1951, TNC has been doing work you can believe in.
