Key Responsibilities:
The potential candidate shall be proficient in all aspects of CNC programming, machining and inspection. The applicant must be proficient in off-line CNC programming, capable of making own set-ups on simple easy to machine parts to single one-of-a-kind complex prototypes on a variety of materials. This person must also be capable of providing technical and operational assistance to apprentice machine tool operators.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma plus additional technical coursework in machining preferred. Prior directly related technical machining experience. The candidate must have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/machining environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a 4-year Machining/Machinist journeyperson apprenticeship program or hold an associate's degree in Machining. The candidate holds 10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/machining environment.
Physical and Mental Demands: Regularly or frequently sitting, talking, hearing, grasping, touching, walking, reaching with hands/arms and performing repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movements. Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less to type documents, read and use a computer. Concentrated attention to proofread documents, create spreadsheets, etc. and application of principles of logical thinking and reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Apply reasoning to solve practical problems and to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
Work Environment: Moderate noise level (i.e. computers, printers, etc.). May experience moderate to loud noise level if an assignment is conducted in High Bay area. Indoor temperature-controlled office environment. May be safety sensitive if required to work an assignment in the High Bay area where PPE is required.
