Community Foundation for the Alleghenies Accounting/Financial Officer in Johnstown, Pennsylvania
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented financial officer to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and assisting the organization from a fiscal perspective through its next stages of growth.
The core responsibilities inlcude: Assisting in the preparation of accounting records, financial statements, and reports, Performing checks and blances to prevent innaccuracies, Completing aspects of payroll processing, Reviewing processes to improve financial efficiency, Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Analyzing and maintaing ledger accounts, Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information, Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications, Completing tax forms and assisting with tax filings, Participating in budgeting processes, Maintaining internal controls, Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies, regulations and laws, Monitoring investments, Assisting the outside auditor as needed.
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field. CPA certification preferred but not required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite with ability to gain proficiency in foundation-specific software and technology. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with auditing and financial statement preparation. Knowledge of GAAP. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as a part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task projects and prioritize. Ability to anticipate needs and aks questions. Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
