HFM BOCES PTECH is accepting applications for an open position for a 10-month plus twenty days, full-time, tenure track School Counselor, Social Worker, or Special Education teacher. The position will be located at SUNY FMCC.

The position is unique and will offer the successful candidate a rewarding experience working with high school students in an early college high school program. The candidate will work directly with students and staff, supporting the creation and execution of the master schedule; will provide counseling support to students as needed; will act as an advocate and advisor to students in the selection and registration of college courses; will maintain regular and open communication with high school counselor colleagues and college professors; will act as a liaison between families, community college, and outside agencies. The candidate for this position will have a small special education caseload and will need to be conversant in special education accommodations and assisting students with self-advocacy and access to accommodations at the college.

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Certification as a School Counselor, Social Worker, or Special Education Teacher required. TEACH Clearance

Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
