JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Business Office Assistant is responsible for handling the resident's financial accounts, assisting the financial director, and working with insurance companies under the director's advisement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates responsibility for handling cash receipts, resident's account payable, petty cash, mail distribution, and filing
Process cash receipts
Process accounts payable
Demonstrates responsibility for the day-to-day activity in resident trust accounts
Compiles and gathers all information for monthly closing, including posting and balancing all data, submitting all materials to the Corporate Office, and communicating status to the Business Office Manager
Meets with the Business Office Manager weekly to discuss all problems or potential problems within the department or on individual accounts. Formulates recommendations to the Manager regarding department/individual accounts
Performs various clerical and administrative functions as requested by the Business Office Manager
Responsible for special projects/special reports as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager and the Corporate Office
REQUIREMENTS:
Possesses a High School Diploma.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Accounting experience required, experience with computer systems preferred.
Possesses a valid driver’s license and has an automobile for job-related travel.
Possesses strong communication and organization skills.
Must meet health assessment requirements, including a two-stage Mantoux skin test.
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possesses sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
