BNP Paribas Vice President (Software Development) in Jersey City, New Jersey

Vice President (Software Development) for BNP Paribas RCC Inc. in Jersey City, NJ, to function as a Technology Engineer within the Global Prime Services technology team to develop and maintain applications supporting the Prime and Finance platforms. Analyze the requirements and provide business process automation ideas and solutions relevant to the project. Design and develop scalable and flexible applications, documenting technical specifications and functional flows. Enforce technical architecture standards. Analyze functional and system requirements with the offshore development team. Interact with software development teams on design, coding, User Acceptance Testing, and deployment. Escalate blocking issues to the appropriate level of management. Perform Level 3 support on rotation, investigate any issues, determine root causes, and obtain resolution. Follow the Software Development Life Cycle process, including the end-to-end development cycle from requirements analysis, coding, testing, maintenance, and supporting production releases.Requires: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus six (6) years’ experience as a Vice President (Software Development) or related occupation performing software development or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years’ experience as a Vice President (Software Development) or related occupation performing software development. Specific skills/other requirements - Demonstrated Expertise (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise (DE) supporting popular financial data sources such as Bloomberg, Reuters, and Thomson Reuters containing information reference data and Pricing for all financial asset classes; (DE) with financial regulations, such as MiFID II, and experience in developing applications that comply with these regulations; (DE) implementing core Java concepts, which encompass Java 8's lambdas for writing concise and maintainable code; (DE) extending proficiency to object-oriented programming, data structures, and databases, including relational databases Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL and non-relational databases CouchDB, MongoDB, and Hadoop; (DE) utilizing J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Multithreading, or SpringBoot to develop REST API; and (DE) implementing various Jenkins plugins, including Git, Maven, and Ant, to integrate with a wide range of tools and technologies employed in the software development process.
