Aston Carter Senior Accountant in Jersey City, New Jersey
Senior AccountantOverview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general accounting and financial reporting for an operating entity. You will have an opportunity to work for a rapidly growing organization and have the chance to work collaboratively with other Accountants on a common goal.
Responsibilities:
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Complete monthly financial statement close work, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Manage daily and weekly treasury functions, including wire/ACH initiation, banking file transmission, and Positive Pay approval.
Assist with annual audit preparations and regulatory reporting.
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Oversee fixed asset accounting activities, including acquisition, capitalization, disposal, impairment, and depreciation.
Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as needed.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance
3+ years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting concepts.
Proficiency in Excel, including pivots and X lookups.
Analytical mindset.
Experience with general ledger, balance sheet, and reconciliation.
Month-end close experience.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes a flexible schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, with consistent days decided in advance. The hours are 9 hours per day with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Start times are flexible, ranging from as early as 4 AM to as late as 9 AM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
