Insight Global NYC Safety Manager in Jersey City, New Jersey

Job Description

A waste management company based out of New Jersey is looking for a Safety Manager to join their New York City Market. This individual will be responsible for overseeing their Bronx, Brooklyn and Jersey City locations when it comes to the safety and well-being of the employees, vehicles and facilities.

You will work with all employees at each facility to promote a positive and strong safety culture, develop new trainings, ensure safety protocols are being met, preparing for audits, provide coaching to existing and new employees and perform worker evaluations.

This is a multi-faceted role that will have you at times on the road doing ride alongs, training in the classroom, conducting investigations, coaching the supervisors under your leadership and heavy documentation. You should be comfortable working flex hours due to the nature of the business and being available for your team as an escalation point.

This is an on-site 5 day a week position and inviduals can reside anywhere in the NYC metro-area or close by in neighboring states as long as they're okay with the commute. This role will occasionally require overnight and weekend shifts.

Skills and Requirements

-5+ years in a safety manager position overseeing a team and the safety program of the organization

-Strong knowledge and experienced with DOT and OSHA standards

-Experience implementing new safety programs, protocols and procedures to enhance the safety of the work environment -waste and recycling or transportation industry experience

-previously a CDL driver

-Bilingual in Spanish null
