Job Title: Manual Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist who is mechanically inclined and experienced with setting up and operating manual mills and lathes. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude in working with industrial equipment and machinery and be familiar with using calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills and lathes.

• Perform tool changes and die cleaning as needed.

• Grade own rejects and stack profiles on carts or bundle in boxes.

• Verify piece counts for carts and boxes.

• Monitor extrusion rate and profile configuration.

• Maintain supply of compound staged at the machine.

• Assist in moving carts when necessary.

• Clean profiles as needed.

• Work in the tool honing department, cleaning and refinishing used tooling for reuse or repair.

• Run up to 3 extrusion lines at a time, change tooling, complete paperwork, add shipping labels, and operate a forklift.

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine operation, including manual machinery, lathes, and mills.

• Ability to read, write, and understand English for effective communication.

• Proficiency in performing basic math functions.

• Experience in blueprint reading, assembly, inspection, and construction.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in labor-intensive roles such as laborer or machine operating.

• Knowledge of CNC machine operation is a plus.

Work Environment

You will be working in an enclosed manufacturing facility that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility is equipped with heaters during the winter months but is not climate controlled. The building is fairly clean and typical for a manufacturing environment. The facility operates 7 days a week, and you will work a shift of 5 days on and 2 days off, with days off typically not falling on the weekend. There are no official breaks during the shift; however, you can inform your supervisor when you need a break so they can watch your lines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
