Waste Connections Collections Representative-Royal Waste-Queens in Jamaica, New York
Royal Waste is looking to add a Collections Representative to our growing team in Jamaica, NY . This role will be paying:
$25.00-$28.00 per hour based on experience
Please note this role is Monday- Friday in office 5 days.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collections Representative to join our team in-office, five days a week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing outstanding accounts, contacting customers to collect payments, and negotiating payment arrangements while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach to resolving delinquent accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect outstanding payments.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements within company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payment arrangements, and collection efforts in the system.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
• Escalate complex cases to the appropriate team or management as needed.
• Monitor and follow up on past-due accounts to ensure timely resolution.
• Meet or exceed collection targets and department goals.
• Adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 1+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related customer service role.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and collections software.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced office environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
