Sodexo's Airport Lounge Segment has an exciting new Kitchen Manager / Ops Manager opportunity to support our American Airlines Admirals Lounge at JFK International Airport in Jamaica, NY. We are seeking a talented individual who will commit to the challenges of creating and delivering a culinary-driven, upscale experience within a thoughtfully designed travel oasis. The ideal Chef candidate will have an eclectic menu knowledge and upscale to fine-dining a la carte experience. This is a hands-on Chef role requiring previous experience managing upscale food production. This position is mainly dinner service, with a typical schedule of 1pm to 10pm, 2 days off together a week with great quality of life! This chef will also be involved with our guests and be moving through the entire lounge as a manager.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;

  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;

  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;

  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or

  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent

Basic Management Experience - 1 year
