Foodnet Meals on Wheels Outreach Driver in Ithaca, New York

We are the only agency in Tompkins County serving older adults through home delivered meals, nutrition services and friendly safety checks every day! Join our dedicated team to ensure that senior neighbors can remain independent. <p>

As Outreach Driver you will: <ul> <li> Deliver fresh (yummy!) meals to client homes, following an assigned route, Monday- Friday, 8:30 am and 1:30 pm. This role will work 5 days per week (5 hours per day) -perfect for school-aged parents/caregivers or the semi-retired. No weekend or evening shifts required!

<li> Provide a friendly visit and check-in for older adults receiving Foodnet meals in Tompkins County.

<li> Assist with food packing and safe temp transportation using hot/cold meal transporters loading into newer Foodnet-owned and carefully maintained cargo vans (with AC!)

<li> Work with a fun, energetic group of individuals who are committed to assisting our senior neighbors live independently.

<li> Become an active participant in Foodnets commitment to creating a diverse and fully inclusive workplace that strengthens our organization and enhances our ability to adapt to change.

<li> Enjoy the breathtaking views along Tompkins County roadways, get your steps in as you deliver meals to client homes.

<li> Receive a Tompkins County Living Wage $18.45 per hour. </ul>

To be an Outreach Driver, you need: <ul> <li> A valid NYS drivers license with clean driving and safety record. <li> A good sense of humor and ability to see good in others. <li> An interest in social services, food security, senior health and making our community a better place. <li> An ability to lift and move 40-60 lbs, stand for a full shift, exit and enter vehicle safely, ability to climb stairs. <li> A collaborative and flexible workstyle and a willingness to communicate effectively as a part of a multifaceted and fun team. </ul> Experience with older adults, differently abled individuals and diverse populations is welcome. Food service experience is not required but is also welcome. High school diploma or record of equivalent skills to demonstrate success in the role. Knowledge of Tompkins County is helpful. <p>
