CFCU Community Credit Union Business Development Manager in Ithaca, New York

CFCU Community Credit Union (CFCU) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead and/or facilitate the credit union’s business development activities and functions at the Credit Union and will identify, develop, and grow key relationships that will drive member growth. This individual will seek opportunities to expand the organization’s reach, and partner with internal stakeholders on key initiatives to drive strategic growth. The Business Development Manager will also identify and refer opportunities to enhance CFCU’s involvement in the sponsorship of community and industry events. This position will report directly to the Chief Production Officer and will be part of the Management Team and Senior Management Team. This role is eligible for incentives based on achieving set goals.Responsibilities:•Facilitates the creation and regular update of an organization-wide business development strategy and plan that helps drive member growth using multiple channels and tools. •Assists in the creation and achievement of functional-level and organization-level business development goals.•Collaborates with the Credit Union's leadership and functional areas on the planning, development, and execution of business strategies that support the Credit Union's mission, vision, strategic pillars, values, and strategic goals and themes.•Ensures business development goals are aligned with organizational strategic objectives.•Collaborates with others in the organization to establish, execute, and monitor goals for member penetration and products/services per member.•Identifies and pursues opportunities, in conjunction with the Financial Literacy Coordinator, to grow and enhance CFCU’s relationships with school districts within the Field of Membership (“FOM”) (branching and financial literacy opportunities, event sponsorships, faculty / staff / alumni / student engagement). •Identifies and pursues opportunities, in conjunction with the Retail and Marketing teams, to grow and enhance CFCU’s relationships with colleges and universities within the FOM (branching, financial education, sports marketing, event sponsorships, faculty / staff / alumni / student engagement). •Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing a Bank at Work program for Select Employee Groups (SEGs) and other employers to help drive new membership and deepen existing member relationships. •Travels to the various communities within CFCU’s FOM to promote the credit union and its benefits. •Seeks and refers potential community relationships with non-profits and other community partners, particularly in communities within the FOM in which CFCU’s community involvement is more limited. •Seeks, analyzes, and shares feedback from various stakeholders that will help to drive growth at the credit union. •Assists in the creation and production of periodic reports for credit union leadership and board related to the status and performance of the business development function. Qualifications:•Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, business development, and/or member relations.•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales, marketing, business development, finance, or another relevant field strongly preferred. •Ability to build strong relationships with leadership and staff based on trust and mutual respect. •Ability to collaborate with and motivate multifunctional teams. •Ability to facilitate organizational growth. •Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.•The ability to build a strong knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services, and to articulate the benefits of CFCU membership to potential is a must.•Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage deadlines. •Data Analytic skills would be preferred.•Ability to travel to all counties within CFCU’s FOM, and to periodically attend after-hours networking and sponsored events across the FOM. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
