Meat Manager

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customers receive polite, friendly service.
  • Achieve budgeted sales and profits for the meat department.
  • Maintain desired inventory levels, product availability, and supplies to maximize sales and minimize excessive inventory.
  • Operate equipment such as meat saw, slicers, and labeling machines
  • Provide guidance, training, and feedback to other meat department associates to achieve satisfactory performance standards.
  • Control meat shrink through proper implementation of the stock loss program.
  • Ensure proper pricing and item scanning through price audits and proper scanning procedures.
  • Ensure the cooler is properly maintained.
  • Ensure advertised items are available, signed, and scan correctly.
  • Overall role requires strong organizational and managerial skills, as well as the ability to handle various responsibilities to ensure a smooth operation of the meat department

Physical Requirements:

  • The meat manager must be able to lift heavy objects, work in a refrigerated environment.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and/or move about for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, and twist for extended periods of time.
