Grocery Manager

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customers receive polite, friendly service.
  • Achieve budgeted sales and profits for the grocery department.
  • Maintain desired inventory levels, product availability, and supplies to maximize sales and minimize excessive inventory.
  • Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
  • Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to ensure grocery department associates achieve satisfactory performance standards.
  • Control grocery shrink through proper implementation of the stock loss program.
  • Ensure proper pricing and item scanning through price audits and proper scanning procedures.
  • Ensure the backroom is properly maintained.
  • Ensure advertised items are available, signed, and scan correctly.
  • Help prepare grocery department for grocery inventory.
  • Works with the store management team to maintain product level and conditions associated with vendor product.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • A minimum of 1 year retail management of related industry experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing 20-50lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and/or move about for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, and twist for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly works in freezers, refrigerators, in and outside of the store in all weather conditions.
