Minimum Qualifications The Senior Safety, Security, and Risk Manager position entails a critical role in overseeing the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and assets for the agency. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, Safety and Security, the senior manager will lead a team of Security Technicians, Bridge (STBs), ensuring their professional development and adherence to safety protocols. The role involves strategic expertise in conducting security audits, risk identification, and developing mitigation plans. The manager will play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing comprehensive security policies, driving compliance, and fostering a culture of safety. The proactive management of risk mitigation strategies, including adapting to emerging technologies, is central to the position. The senior manager will also be responsible for emergency preparedness management, incident coordination, and overseeing a robust security training and certification program for the agency's security staff. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills are emphasized, along with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, aligning with the agency's commitment to safety and public well-being. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in security management, team leadership, and risk mitigation.
Duties Description 1. Hold a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public safety, or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively varied and responsible experience as a sworn full-time law enforcement officer with a recognized law enforcement agency (agencies) and at least four (4) years in an administrative, supervisory, or management position. A combination of experience and education may be considered.2. Proven experience in security management, preferably in the protection of critical infrastructure such as bridges3. Strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing and developing security teams4. In-depth knowledge of security technologies and their applications5. Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and the ability to create and implement effective mitigation strategies6. Experience creating policies and procedures for security operations, preventive planning, incident management, and preparedness Applies a basic knowledge of information security and risk mitigation principles, theories, and techniques in daily work7. Thorough understanding of infrastructure components and systems8. Resilience and flexibility to explore different paths to achieve an outcome and adjust quickly and efficiently to new circumstances and measured results9. Demonstrates understanding and use of basic project management methodologies, including the ability to plan, manage and maintain a complex, organization-wide program over the long term10. Must possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify problems and exercise sound judgment during the decision-making process and while recommending/implementing solutions11. Must possess solid organizational and management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously12. Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage concurrent deadlines13. Flexible; able to move strategy forward in a rapidly changing environment14. Must possess strong long term strategic planning skills15. Must possess strong Critical Thinking skills 16. Must have a valid Driver’s license.
