OTI Community Services Respite Worker in Hempstead, New York

Respite Workers/Caregiver Family Service Providers At OTI Community Services our main focus has been to provide a brand of quality care and services to the families in our communities. We are seeking a dedicated Respite Worker to assist us with Participants enrolled at our facility. You will be responsible for consulting with Participants and determining their needs, developing care plans, coordinating/providing planned respite activities, and working with the care team to evaluate interventions.

Locations: Long Island, Queens

The successful applicant will display a compassionate nature' be knowledgeable about health care practices, be open and willing to work in participants' homes and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a care plan for participants on caseload to address their personal health care needs.
  • Assist the care team with developing and assessing health interventions.
  • Attend trainings and courses to keep abreast of new developments in health care.
  • Treat Participants with empathy and respect and represent OTI in professional manner.
  • Comply with organizational guidelines and health care laws and regulations.

Qualifications: Level I- High School Diploma; 1 year of experience working with children and families, preferably children with special needs.

Level II- An Associate's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services or other related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of experience working with children and families, preferably children with special needs.

Job Type: Level I: Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour based on experience. Level II: $20.00 to $28.00 per hour based on experience.

Multiple Locations Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
