Our goal is to enable each and every individual to reach his/her maximum potential in the least restrictive environment by selecting and promoting educational practices that are grounded in research and science, in particular applied behavior analysis; and, to assist each individual with identifying and realizing his/her own goals.Job Responsibilities (Assistant to Residential Manager):Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist Manager to supervise and coordinate efforts of staff assigned to the house.

  • Participate in the screening of applicants.

  • Assist on performance evaluations of staff job performance

  • Make recommendations for staff promotions, terminations and change of positions.

  • Assist the Manager in developing and maintaining staff schedules.

  • Attend scheduled staff meetings (and chair the meetings in the absence of the Manager),

  • Guarantee accurate and timely completion of documentation

  • Attend team meetings when necessary.

  • Evaluate staff performance during programming and recreational activities, and recommend and implement training as needed.

  • In the absence of the Manager acts as a liaison person between contracted services and the agency, facilitating prompt correction of any and all deficiencies present in the physical environment.

  • Ensures compliance with Federal, State, local regulations, Agency policies and procedures.

  • Maintains records of emergency evacuations (fire drills) in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Responsible for escorting consumers to medical appointments, scheduling medical appointments on time and keeping open communication between medical providers and treatment team

  • Assist the Manager with management and maintenance of house accounts for daily operations, ensuring they remain within the predetermined budgetary guidelines.

  • Assist the Manager in keeping accurate and complete accounts of the consumer’s personal monies, in accordance with guidelines set forth in NYSCRR Title 14 Part 633.

  • Guarantees accurate and timely completion of all documentation including but not limited to house logs, staff time sheets, incident reports, and behavior documentation.

  • Acts as a liaison between the house and the agency, overseeing agencies and service providers such as recreation, service coordinators, community group (Community Advisory Board, Religious leaders) etc.

  • Maintenance of agency vehicle, which includes but is not limited to cleanliness, regular maintenance (tune-up’s, oil changes) cleaning seats, etc. Also ensures that staff is trained in all checklists as they relate to the van.

  • Assures house communication logs are accurate, and maintains up to date inventories of medications and medical supplies, household supplies, clothing, food, etc.

Required education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field required, pursuing Bachelor’s degree will be considered.Required experience/knowledge/skills(if applicable):- Two years of supervisory experience (in a residential setting) preferred.-Work experience in the field of developmental disabilities.-Knowledge of educational, behavioral procedures, principles and technology-Strong written communication skillsRequired license or certification (if applicable): Valid driver’s license.MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION BENEFITS *RETIREMENT PLAN EDUCATION INCENTIVESLIFE INSURANCE/AD&D403B PLANS *PAID VACATION, HOLIDAY & SICK TIME FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES.EOE
